Practice Staff
Practice Manager
Alyson Ritchie BA (Hons)
Alyson looks after the day to day administration, planning and development
of the Practice as well as dealing with personnel management and customer service
issues. We hope that you will always be satisfied with our service. However,
if you have any concerns, comments, suggestions or complaints, Alyson is your
first point of contact.
Assistant Practice Manager
Fiona Jackson
Fiona heads the administration department. She, along with Debbie, Sue Carolyn and
Emily will process your referrals to secondary care, action requests for medical
reports, arrange your appointments to attend review clinics, check the accuracy
of your medical records and ensure the appointment schedules are in place in
order that you can make your appointments. This department also manages the IT
infrastructure within the Practice.
Reception Staff
Co-ordinated by Judith, the reception staff will assist you in making emergency
and routine appointments to see your doctor, arrange repeat prescriptions and
will attempt to assist you in whatever ways they are able. Please note that the
confidentiality of patients’ records
will be maintained at the highest level by all staff.
The receptionists are trained to take essential details sympathetically and
in complete confidence. Please do not get angry with them. They are only carrying
out instructions and their job is a difficult one. Rudeness will not be tolerated
and will be reported on every occasion this occurs.
Nurse Practitioner
Mrs Jan Holmes MSc, Independent Prescriber, RGN (1981), is available each day to triage patients whose condition may need treatment that day. She will see these patients and arrange for them to see a doctor that day, as appropriate.
Practice Nurses
Our two practice nurses, Margaret Bailey RGN (1969) and Sally Ann Wright RGN
BSc (Hons) (2006) are in attendance,
helping to run the specialist clinics and offering a wide range of services such
as taking blood samples, doing routine dressings, syringing ears, cervical smears,
advice regarding travel immunisations etc.
Healthcare Assistants
These are Natasha Gunning, Sharon Gill and Cheryl Hopkins, all NVQ 3. To improve
efficiency, one of them will run a daily 'open access' clinic, so that if a GP
requests a blood test, this can be done during your visit to the Practice on
the same day.
Midwife
When pregnancy is confirmed you should ring Bridlington District Hospital on 01262 606666 for a midwife’s appointment.
District Nurses
The district nursing staff attend to patients within the community who are unable to attend the surgery. The district nurses will assess the health care needs and carry out treatment in the home. Contact them on 01262 423114.
Health Visitors
Our two health visitors are available to render health advice to people of all ages. They are also involved in child development screening in the pre-school child. Contact the health visitors on 01262 400565.
